What is Aminophylline and how does it work?

Pharmacological effects of aminophylline

Aminophylline is a double salt of theophylline and diethylamine. The main pharmacological effects of theophylline come from theophylline. Ethylenediamine enhances its water solubility.
① Relax bronchial smooth muscle, and also relax various smooth muscles such as intestine and biliary tract, and also relieve congestion and edema of bronchial mucosa.
②Increase cardiac output, expand output and input renal arterioles, increase glomerular filtration rate and renal blood flow, and inhibit the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the distal renal tubules.

Usage and dosage

Intravenous injection, 0.25~0.5g once, 0.5~1g per day, 25~100 mg diluted with 5% glucose injection to 20~40ml, the injection time should not be shorter than 10 minutes.
Intravenous infusion, 0.25~0.5g once, 0.5~1g a day, diluted with 5~10% glucose solution and then slowly instilled.
For injection, the maximum amount is 0.5g once and 1g per day. Rectal administration, usually before going to bed or after going to bed, 0.25-0.5g once, 1-2 times a day.

2. The usual dose for children is taken orally, according to the body weight of 4-6 mg/kg, 2 to 3 times a day. Intravenous injection, one time according to body weight 2~4 mg/kg, diluted with 5-25% glucose injection, and slowly injected.
