Overdose or long-term continuous medication can cause animal poisoning and severely cause animal death. It can cause irreversible damage to the central nervous system, and can cause diseases such as hemolytic liver necrosis in the human body. As early as 2002, the Ministry of Agriculture listed it as a banned veterinary drug and it is strictly prohibited to use it in any food animal. However, in order to pursue economic benefits, some farmers still use it as a special medicine for treating aquatic gastrointestinal diseases.
Studies have also shown that furazolidone for long or high doses has varying degrees of toxic and side effects on liver, kidney, heart, hypothalamus and reproductive systems of animals.

When used as a veterinary drug, furazolidone has a good effect on the prevention and treatment of certain protozoan diseases, water mold diseases, bacterial rotten gills, erythroderma, and bleeding diseases.
In the breeding industry, furazolidone can be used to treat intestinal infections in livestock and poultry, such as piglet yellow and white pheasant. In the aquaculture industry, furazolidone has a certain effect on the infection of cerebral myxosoma by Salmonella.

Furazolidone for dogs

It is usually used to treat intestinal infections and coccidiosis in dogs, and it is effective against E. coli and dysentery.

Furazolidone for fish

Furazolidone is the main component of tetriline, an ornamental fish medicine "yellow powder", which can interfere with the bacterial sugar metabolism process and oxidase system and exert bacteriostatic or bactericidal effects. So it can be used to treat bacterial diseases of ornamental fish disease. And the effect is very good.

Furazolidone in poultry

Furazolidone is highly toxic, and it is not easy to control the middle dosage or uneven mixing, and it is easy to be poisoned and even cause the death of chickens. Due to the short breeding period of broilers, if furazolidone is used to prevent and treat diseases, slaughtering is often carried out because the drug has not been excreted cleanly, resulting in the drug remaining in the chicken, causing human drug poisoning after human consumption, affecting human health. Therefore, furazolidone is strictly prohibited in the feeding process of fast large broilers.

As a veterinary drug, this product is absorbed orally quickly but not completely. It is widely distributed in animals and can enter tissues and body fluids well. Mainly excreted from urine in the form of original drugs. But it is inevitable that there will be residual drugs left in the body. This is likely to cause furazolidone residues in chicken. It is necessary to detect furazolidone in chicken.
BALLYA Furazolidone Test provided by BALLYA can effectively and quickly detect whether chicken contain furazolidone residues. Not only is the operation simple and the detection time is short, it allows the tester to obtain the test results in the first time.
