Mylar bags made of multiple plastic films combined by a bag making machine, are used to package food, pharmaceutical industrial products, daily necessities, etc. Also name as Aluminum foil bags or foil bags, is widely used in the family, food safety industry and chemical industry.
Aluminium foil bags usually refers to aluminium-plastic composite vacuum packaging bags. This type of product is suitable for moisture-proof, light-proof and vacuum packaging of large precision machinery, chemical raw materials, and pharmaceutical intermediates. Four-layer structure is mostly used, which has good water and oxygen barrier functions. Without limitation, you can customize packaging bags of different specifications and styles. They can be made into flat bags, three-dimensional bags, organ bags and other styles.
Large precision machinery, chemical raw materials, medicine, etc.
Mylar Bags Features
1. Strong air barrier performance, anti-oxidation, waterproof, and moisture-proof.
2. Strong mechanical properties, high blast resistance, puncture resistance and tear resistance.
3. High temperature resistance (121°C), low temperature resistance (-50°C), oil resistance and good fragrance retention performance.
4. Non-toxic and tasteless, in line with food and drug packaging hygiene standards
5. Good heat sealing performance, flexibility, high barrier performance
What are mylar bags made of?
1. Polyester film (PET)
PRT is also known as biaxially stretched polyester film. PET is often used as the outer layer material of foil bags, and the usual thickness is 12μm. It has high melting point, high heat resistance, high mechanical strength, high rigidity and high transparency. Furthermore, due to the polarity relationship in its molecular structure, the surface tension is relatively high. After a little corona treatment, the surface tension can reach 52mN/m, which is very beneficial for printing and bonding.
When PET is used as the outer layer material to compound with other heat-sealable materials (CPP, PE, etc.) to heat-seal the bag, even if the temperature is as high as 220C, it will not melt or deform.
2. Nylon membrane (PA)
The commonly used thickness is 15μ, which can be used to make heavy-duty bags with good puncture resistance and large capacity. It is often used in interlayers similar to the inner CPP, such as PTALUPACC. Nylon fat also has high flame point, high heat resistance, high mechanical strength, high transparency and excellent puncture resistance performance. Its rigidity and aroma resistance are worse than ET, and softer. It can be used for pumping vacuum bags, cooking bags, etc.
3. Aluminium foil (AL)
Aluminium foil is a metal material that has complete moisture barrier, gas barrier and light barrier properties. If there is no mechanical damage and pinholes, it is completely impermeable to moisture, air (02, N2, CO2, etc.), impervious to light, with high heat resistance and oil resistance, therefore, the composite bag made of aluminium foil has excellent properties such as full sealing, high fragrance retention, high oil resistance, and high temperature resistance. It is the most high-end composite flexible packaging material.
4. Polyethylene (PE)
It is often used as the inner material of aluminium foil bags and has good heat sealing performance. PE has excellent low temperature resistance (-70~-100C), good chemical stability, and can withstand most acids and alkalis (not resistant to acids with oxidizing properties).
5. Polypropylene (PP)
PP is commonly made of CPP cast polypropylene (unstretched) and BOPP polypropylene (biaxially stretched) film. CPP film is mainly used for the heat-seal layer of composite materials. According to performance and use, it can be divided into ordinary grade, cooking grade and aluminized grade.
The density is about 0.90, which is the lightest plastic; BOPP film has high tensile strength, impact strength, tear strength and flexural strength, good transparency, gloss and moisture resistance, with light texture and low price. BOPP film is suitable for various packaging, printing, laminating, etc., and is often used as the outer layer of composite packaging.
6. PDVC (Polyvinylidene Chloride) Film
PVDC film is a high barrier film coated with polyvinylidene chloride, which has high barrier properties, which means that any plastic film will have high barrier properties as long as it is coated with it.
7. EVOH (ethylene copolymer)
EVOH is a new type of high-barrier material. Its notable features are excellent gas barrier properties and excellent processability. In addition, its transparency, gloss, mechanical strength, flexibility, abrasion resistance, cold resistance and surface strength are excellent. However, since its barrier properties will be greatly reduced when it encounters moisture, it is usually sandwiched between two layers of materials with better moisture barrier properties.
8. Aluminized film
Aluminium-plated film is usually made of CPP, PET, BOPP as the substrate using evaporation method. The aluminium layer is very thin, the material is metallic, so the barrier performance is greatly improved.
