How to prevent Spring diseases in dairy cows

The climate in spring is changeable. In the process of dairy farming, if feeding management is not at home, the cow will suffer from various diseases. Therefore, dairy farmers should be familiar with the clinical features of multiple diseases in spring, strengthen the prevention of spring disease in dairy cows, and improve the management techniques for dairy cattle breeding. The specific practices are as follows:

Strengthen feeding management

The feed for feeding cattle should be varied. The main feed is grass and hay, supplemented with concentrate or some other additives. During the milking period, the cattle farmer needs to use a variety of feeds, such as straw, corn stover, bean cake, distiller's grains, melon peel and so on.

Adopt scientific and reasonable feeding methods. The feeding of cattle should be regularly quantified and adjusted according to the season, and the water supply should be adjusted. It is necessary to ensure that the water tank of the dairy sports ground is often filled with water.

Ensure the amount of exercise per day. The staff is required to keep the cows driving for more than 2 hours a day. And pay attention to the temperature inside the cow house to reduce the incidence of cow disease.

Preventing spring diseases

Parasitic disease:
Make sure the body is clean and rub the affected area with a 2% trichlorfon solution. Subcutaneous injection of avermectin and ivermectin. For some pregnant cattle, farmers can use ivermectin and praziquantel for deworming, no side effects on the pregnant female cow. In the case of sputum, the affected part should be rubbed with the trichlorfon solution. The soil method can be applied to the affected part with a tobacco head or waste engine oil.

Influenza:
The clinical symptoms are sudden onset. The body temperature of the sick cow rises to 41 °C to 42 °C, the nose is dry, coughing, clear nose, runny nose, conjunctival flushing and swelling, mental depression, unwillingness to act, difficult to get up, limp, loss of appetite or stop, less dry manure, and a rapid decline in milk production. You can use 30% Analgin injection or compound aminopyrine injection 20ml, penicillin 500-8 million units, streptomycin 3-5g, mixed intramuscular injection, 2 times a day, for 2-3 days. 

Chinese medicine treatment: honeysuckle, wild chrysanthemum, wind, ginger, forsythia, Bupleurum, Astragalus, dried tangerine peel, burdock, licorice 30 grams -50 grams, decoction, 1 dose per day, and even 2 doses -3 Agent. Preventive measures are to strengthen the management of cattle breeding, to improve the insulation of the cattle house; regularly disinfect with 10% to 20% quicklime water or 2% to 3% of caustic soda; reduce the dose of the above traditional Chinese medicine treatment by half.

Bovine Pneumonia:
Clinical symptoms are weak at the beginning of the disease, elevated body temperature, difficulty breathing, dry cough, nasal fluid with blood, drooling, lower abdomen edema, runny nose, tearing, squatting, red eyes, difficulty breathing, mucous membranes, often due to suffocation Or collapse and die. 

Treatment: ceftiofur can be used, 0.3 g per 100 kg body weight, diluted with distilled water or physiological saline, intravenously, once a day, once every 3 times. Doxycycline, 0.5 grams per 100 kilograms of body weight, divided into deep intramuscular injections, once a day for 5 days. Precautionary measures: Cattle breeders should strengthen the hygiene of the pens, and test the blood of the cattle suspected of being sick for the complement test. After the test is positive, the vaccine is attenuated.

Impact Ruminis:
The clinical symptoms are sick cows with backs, sputum, molars, back to the abdomen, hind limbs kicking, ruminating, suffocating or even stopping, often used as a defecation posture, but difficulty in defecation, fewer feces, dry, spherical, abdomen as the circumference increases, the rumen of the left ankle is firm, and a hand press will leave a distinct indentation. 

Treatment: 2-5 liters of normal saline, 3 times a day, 3 times a day; 500 g-800 g of magnesium sulfate or sodium sulfate, 15 g to 20 g of fish fat, 5 kg of water, 1 time after mixing; feces. After diarrhea symptoms, use scorpion 15-20 ml, gentian sputum 50 ml, add an appropriate amount of warm water, 1 time. The above treatment method can be combined with massage rumen, traction, and subcutaneous injection of 0.15 g of pilocarpine, the effect will be better. Chinese medicine treatment can be used 120 grams of rhubarb, 150 grams of thenardite, 50 grams of medlar, 100 grams of Magnolia, 50 grams of Astragalus, Hawthorn, Yu Liren, Hemp, 100 grams of Laiwu, 40 grams of Guangmuxiang, decoction orally, used 3-5 days.

Rot hoof disease:
The feces left in the cow-house or sports field in the winter is difficult to remove, and the hooves are soaked in it for a long time to cause hoof disease. At this time, attention should be paid to environmental cleaning and disinfection. Also pay attention to hoof and limb care, shovel bath for cattle using 3.5% copper sulfate or formalin. If hoof disease occurs, it should be repaired, local anti-inflammatory, if there is trauma, remove the damaged tissue, apply potassium permanganate for dressing.
